Gujarat: During the past three months from two villages in Mehsana Muslims families have been forced out and in one of the villages women brutally beaten up by the police. In baroda 5 young men illegally detained, tortured in a farm house and then shown arrested after 6 days after underdoing third degree torture and then implicated of possesing a rocket launcher which the poilce has not shown till today.
The latest in the series is building a road in the middle of a grave yard in Dahod with human remains still sticking out. The stories of capturing of grave yards, religious and cultural spaces along with various other ways of very systematic and planned discrimination keeps pouring in from all corners of India.
Those in power as well as the so called secular parties and a sizeable portion of the media has just become deaf and blind. While we celebrate our democracy and India moving into the 21st century , a large section of the population has become second class citizens in their own land. The other marginalised poor -tribals, dalits also facing similar situation. Religion has become the biggest industry with huge turn over and the new age gurus its ambassadors. Indian Middle class conciousness is sliding into medieval time. Indian middle class was never so irrational , superstitious and prejudiced as it has become today.

They might have some laws which stress equality, secularism etc. but it's one thing having it in writing and putting it into practie is another.

Indians love the current world political situation with terrorism, they are fully utilising it by jumping on the anti-Muslim bandwagon and trying to make room for their own selves by hating on the Paki/Muslim enemy.
I have some Gujarati Muslim friends (from the older generation) and they haven't gone back to India in like 20-30 years nor do they want to because they lived in fear in an hostile enviroment where they would get murdered and have their houses torched by mobs for eating beef at an Eid feast... They tell me they are greatful to Allah and to Britain for giving them a secure home... Unfortunately now Hindus are not even leaving us alone in this country and are trying to create hatred amongst the local indigneous white people (my Indian colleague did it all the time) for us by chummying up with them and brainwashing them, I wish Muslims would also move out of their lil cliques and show the rest of our countrymen we're human too and not the demons Indians make us out to be...
Our family had an elderly Gujarati Imam Sahib here in England and once I saw a Pakistan flag in his living room, I was surprised and said "Maulvi sahib aren't you Indian?" he said I might have an Indian passport but how I longed for this flag to fly over Dilli back in the 1940s"....
He told me about how Muslims have to make sure they keep the Hindus appeased all the time and if one Muslim steps slightly out of line the whole community bore the brunt..
We have some Gujarati relatives through marriage and they don't like us talking ill of India but they will do it themselves and even they admit the hostility they have to face in India, I wish Pakistan would offer citizenship to Indian Muslims.

Very intelligent Maulvi sahib. He wanted the Pakistani flag to fly over Dilli, but when he had the choice to move over to the land of his dreams he refused. He still wanted an Indian passport. Good for him. These are the kind of people who give the Indian muslims a bad name.
There is an acute paucity of land and govt is doing the right thing by demolishing unused graveyards.

Sounds like he wants to have his cake and eat it. Such traits are commonplace among Muslims living in the West. A minority always engages in a victimization mentality and claim America is at war with Islam. But that’s not all. While they constantly cry about America or the rest of the Western world waging a war on Islam, they have no problem living in the suburban homes and the hospitable lifestyle, while shamelessly reaping the benefits their Western societies offer them.
