Are they real?
I was wondering about if somebody gives you bud-dua how badly could it affect you and the person who actually gave that bud-dua. And are they right to do so. Or is it gunah to give such bud-dua??
It's gun-nah. I've actually read that it is and I have references if need be. (I'm a reference freak.)
Yes, it happens. Very real, and you should ask for protection against it. (References for that too.)

After my shadi my mother in law told us to do 3 kuls and ayatal qursee and blow on each other..she also told me to do it over my clothes.. i did the first part but not over my clothes. I was lifiting a suitcase with my clothes in it and hurt my back...badly..was not able to work full time for almost 3 months.

i am not sure if it is gunah to give bad-dua...though ofcourse it is not good....because sometimes people who believe they have been really hurt or wronged by someone give bad-dua to that person...and in their hearts they feel it is justified...ofcourse Allah does justice to both parties involved...
Yeah all the girls in our family have been forced to learn the nazar ki dua by heart.
