Since childhood, like many other Pakistaniz, we have grown up listening to Nazia Zoheb and Alamgir etc in back home.
There was very limited access to English music for us kidz back then. Only few selected music libraries (Gulistan, Virgil and MTVM) had latest selections. Queens, Police, Led Zeplin, Pink Floyd were the names that everyone would listen to back in 80s. However in solo one name emerged and captured the listeners’ minds forever. And thats nobody else but Bryan Adams. One after another hit made him a house hold name by the 90s in not only North America, but Britan, Europe and Asia was also under his mesmering compositions. There have been numerous artists that not only have adopted his style of singing, but a lot of them have made xerox copies of his famous songs. There are parodies or copies widely found in Pakistani/Indian/Arabic/Chinese and Spanish. That tells the popularity of his compositions around the world.
His hit single ‘Everything I do, I do it for you’ stayed at #1 in British charts for eight consecutive weeks in 1992 which is a record itself.
