Re: Brunch menu..
This sounds good to me - if i was to add a dish i would add some sort of Anda dish an omlette maybe?
What is khagina?
Re: Brunch menu..
^What you have in terms of main dishes if perfect and balanced and delicious. :k: I like how it’s all desi and not a jumble of various ethnicities…just has a more cohesive flow that way. I think it’s more than enough. What are you doing for drinks? You can have chai and lassi and maybe juice.

What is khagina?
It's the anda dish...like an omelet
Re: Brunch menu..
Yep khagina is pretty much and a pyaz mirch etc..
Oh I totally forgot about drinks... Mango lassi perhaps and chai???
Re: Brunch menu..
^Go for it :k:
If there are going to be kids at the brunch, maybe you have juice also as an option if they don’t like lassi and chai. It’s a good menu…i think you’re done.
Re: Brunch menu..
no nihari....keep khagina
Re: Brunch menu..
In essence there are two dishes , Nihari and Halwa Poori , Khagina will act as a side dish and the wonderful thing is that Poori's will go really well with all the three ...
For drinks, go for variation of hot drinks , rather then lassi .. coz after eating heavy and oily stuff , one doesnt feel like having lassi or cold drinks ... so you can have a variation or two of tea ? perhaps lemon tea, mint tea, english tea etc ?
Re: Brunch menu..
Thanks rv.. that was helpful!!
Lusi.. my mom thinks I MUST include at least one meat item so nihari it is and in fact she is making it so no worries :$
CB.. but it's soooo hot here, I drink lassi almost everyday!! The people I know usually just drink the regular black tea so I am not sure if variety will be appreciated as in tasted or not.. I will definitely think about teh idea though!! and now I am thinking of having orange juice/apple juice etc. as well!
Re: Brunch menu..
wow , didnt know it was so hot in your part of the world , in which case yes i agree with you keep a thanda drink… I am still in the favour of juices more then lassi … lassi is really heavy and after all that heavy food , kudos to you if you can still have lassi on top ![]()
Re: Brunch menu..
LOL I dont know if its that hot or not.. I am always HOT!!
and it's going to be brutal for next couple of days.. almost 100F and then we will have 3 feet of snow in winter.. what a pretty place!
why do I find lassi so light?? I drink namkeen lassi everday when I get home and it feels good!!!
Re: Brunch menu..
ohhh i see now , do you make that milk wala lassi ? you know you add bit of milk and loads of water and some salt ..? thats the lighter version ...
The one I ever tasted was in Pakistan , it killed me literally ... it was so heavy ... that one was prepared with full fat yoghurt mostly and very little water ...
Re: Brunch menu..
umm no it;s yogurt but only 1 tablespoon of yogurt and at least 2-3 glasses of water and a pinch of salt, blend it all for 2-3 mins and foamy lassi is ready to drink.. I love it!!! now I want some :p
