Bruce Peninsula

Few weeks ago on the thanksgiving weekend i went to bruce peninsula park, tobermory, five fanthom park and sauble beach.

According to the plan we ( 3 families) were supposed to
leave early morning around 4:00/5:00 am but by the time
everyone had parathay wala nashta etc we left at 6:15 am.

We finally reached bruce peninsula park around 9:45 am.
Its a beautiful national park with numerous lookouts,
lakes and trails. The best part is the mutliple colored
water near groto.

Here are some pics from the bruce peninsula park:

While i was walking on a trail i saw a different type of
mushroom:

After visiting the park we went to our rented trailers
located at tobermory.

In the evening we visited the tobermory harbour. Its a

small tourist town with lower priced products as
compared to the tourist places i have visited before. The water bottle from the vending machine was only a dollar while huge scope (looked like 2 scopes) of icecream was less then $2.

Next morning we took a glass bottom boat from tobermory
to the shipwrecks and to flowerpot island (which is a
part of the five fanthom park).

(You can see the shipwreck)

We did got transfered from the glass boat to this
shuttle to go to the flower pot island:

Two pics of flower pot island:

(According to the history two flower pots were created
naturally by glaciers thousands of years ago)

In the evening before returning to our city we stopped
at the sauble beach. Btw, the french fries they sell at
sauble beach are yummy.

Overall, the trip was great :)

Awesome pictures. I've seen so many pictures of Tobermory and Bruce Peninsula but haven't had a chance to go visit myself. It looks really nice. Glad you had a good time! :-)

I'd love to go further North in the summer (or maybe next September/October for fall colours) and spend some time there. Lake Superior area is absolutely beautiful! We went a couple of years ago but didn't get to spend much time there.

You shoud definitely go if you haven't been there already.

** CareBear: ** I am glad that you liked the pics :)

I absolutely loved the bruce peninsula park because of its water's colours. I believe no cameras can really preserve the colours of the nature.

I just remembered a story...while we were walking on the trail i was telling my aunt that cover island is closed for public because they have rattle snakes and bears...all of a sudden..she shouted that there's a bear in the woods. My heart started pounding so fast..we did stood there quitely for a sec. You know..she only saw a tree and imagined it to be a bear. After that they all went back to the parking lot..and only 3 people continued the journey from there.

I have passed by lake superior area while i travelled with greyhound buses last year..but i didn't stayed there. Any special place that you would recommend?

For tobermory, i think the best budget accomodation is trailer rentals. They cost only around $55-$65 in the fall and per family it only costed us $45.

I just wish i had more time because i wanted to see all the lighthouses along the shores and i wanted to visit lion head.

Is this in ontario?
Looks really beatiful. How far is it from GTA?

** I m Kool: ** yes, its the most southern part of ontario where Lake Huron and Georgian Bay meets. According to mapquest, it does take about 4.5 hours from GTA to get there as highway 10 and highway 6 are provincial routes and not freeways. But while we were coming back we saw that everyone was going over the speed limit atleast 40/50 kms.

The good thing about this whole area is that they have numerous travel info centers in every small town.

If you want you can order a free guide from naturalretreat.com or you can use that site for the planning or to look up the driving scenic fall tour routes.
