Re: Bruce Almighty
Hmm.. out of my curiosity I punched “bruce almighty” on the GS searchbar and found myself in this thread, eh? I had the DVD of this movie back in Dubai a few years ago, but now I can’t find it :(. Anyway it was pretty funny, although the plot could’ve been more subtle (it was banned in some Muslim countries cuz of it). I went over it again at YouTube, came across a handful of hilarious tummy-aching scenes, especially the one with Steve Carell as the newsman and Carrey makes him say weird things (“I do da cha cha like a sissy girl” 
)… I almost burst into tears during that scene I was laughing so hard. And the scene with the Mexican gangsters is also really funny, where a monkey rips through the ass of a thug (eww).
A sequel, Evan Almighty, is coming out June 2007 and it has Steve Carell (uh-oh) in the title role… this time around the fortunes are turned for the newsman I guess. I think it’s based on the Noah’s Ark concept judging by the trailer shows, so ppl who are careful about religious depictions should definitely avoid that like the first movie.
