2- if chrome is not available then Mozilla
3- I usually don't.
4- memory management of browser.
5- chrome is very bad in memory management, it eats main memory. If you are not using other tabs then close them.

Re: Browser

I thought Firefox takes more memory than Chrome? No

Re: Browser

When I saw allocated memory in task manger of windows, I found Chrome...

Re: Browser

For anyone who is using chrome and think that chrome's memory management is bad, try using "The Great Suspender" extenion in chrome (i guess it has firefox counterpart too). This extension actually suspends those tabs (kill them from memory) if they aren't being used for long time. As you might know, every tab in crhome is a process in itself, so keeping those processes (zombie) in the background is one of the biggest problem of chrome memory problem. Try this app and you will be surprised how good your chrome has become :)

On the topic

  1. Chrome/Mozilla
  2. Mozilla
  3. I usually don't
  4. I want blackberry reading mode in Chrome (which is part of upcoming Project Sparta in Windows 10)
  5. Shared my chrome tip already

Re: Browser

  1. Mozilla Firefox, been using it for a long time… i guess, i’m just used to it now+its easy on the eyes:K337:
  2. Chrome
  3. Only when my brother finds out that i haven’t cleared history 'n stuff…otherwise never
  4. Not to wait months for blocking faulty plugins:mad:
  5. Well you know how we save passwords for certain websites…apparently you can see them if you go to options>security>saved passwords and then press show password…yeah… so much for security/privacy…so just to make sure that no one else sees your saved passwords, create a master password that locks this option…tada.

Ok i agree chrome memory usage might be more. I checked it with the same website opened on both the browsers. For Yahoo! firefox took 12mb, whereas chrome took 60mb (this is just the Yahoo tab usage, nothing else included). Unlike mozilla that runs as a single process; chrome lists its processes including plugins and browsers separately, so this could be the one of the reasons for more memory usage (or something else entirely not sure about it). But now i think about it, this is much better…because lets say if one tab crashes, it does not result in crashing the whole of chrome, unlike mozilla that works on the principle of *hum to doobien hain sanam, saath tumhe bhi lye doobien ge. *Not to mention memory usage page of firefox is very much cluttered, whereas chrome’s page is neatly organised.

Re: Browser

**Regarding Passwords

**In chrome, you can’t look at those password unless you authenticate using windows credentials. So chrome has taken care of this vulnerability already.

For chrome, every tab + every plugin has their own process, so if you are opening yahoo tab, it might have different memory footprint if your chrome doens’t have any extensions vs if your chrome has extensions.

Re: Browser

Just finished downloading "The Great Suspender".

I am also using ADblocker ABP on chrome so it prevents all the adds, dislike when i see ads being played first every time i check Youtube.

Re: Browser

aaye hayee tight security  :hehe:

Why is your brother allowed to touch your laptop? :snooty:

Firefox always complains about crashing or restarting, hate it. I just cannot stand when I see this crashing notification. I avoid using it.

In the end, chrome is a win win browser. :champ:

Re: Browser

One password to rule them all…

My brother is quite good with computers…so if there’s some problem that i can’t fix, only then he gets to touch it.

I’m really getting tired of this firefox crashing all the time. You know how it says after you reopen it when its crashed for the umpteenth time “Well this is Embarrassing…” and i’m like baaz to phir bhi nahi arahe apni harkaton se besharam, no you’re not embarrassed at all, you will crash again won’t you, just to spite me, why you evil little browser…you:aj:.

I know chrome’s good, ive started using it a lot more and imported all my bookmarks n stuff from firefox; then one fine day, when i think i’ve had enough, i’l delete it for good.

@MustafaQuraishi, i know chrome lists its processes separately, don’t know and don’t care what the world thinks about it, but i like it very much, thank you and its not like i’ve got my taskbar opened up all the time to see the mess. Thanks for the great suspender tip :k:
