Brownies Help

I made brownies yesterday from this recipe

Kittencal’s Extreme Chocolate Brownies Recipe : Recipezaar

I dont know what I have done wrong…but they are a bit hard on the sides…

Other than that…they taste amazing!! I would totally recommend this recipe…

It says in the recipe …dont overbake…
How do I know when the brownies are baked enough…?

Re: Brownies Help

lightly brush some oil on the bottom AND the sides of the pan....doing this usually keeps my brownies nice and moist along the edges.

the brownies are done when the top part starts to crack a little. Also you can touch it from the top.....if it feels spongy (bounces back up) then it is ready. Another method would be to stick a tooth pick in it....if it comes out clean then it is ready.

be sure to check which rack you put the brownies on....if it's too close to the heat element then it will overbake. place the brownies on the middle rack.

I tried the tooth pick technique and baked them until it came out clean...and greased and powdered the bottom n sides of the dish as well...

maybe i have messed with the quantities?

Brownies continue baking when still warm.. (carry-over cooking) u shud keep them slightly under-done and when u let them cool.. they turn out perfect!

Re: Brownies Help

when your mixture is not evenly spread and you have more mixture in the middle and less on the sides then they get little harder on the sides. Maybe next time use 1 size smaller baking dish...

try Betty Crockers fudge brownie recipe mixture........after this ull never think of any other recipe...............
