Is brown sugar healthier than white? To use in baking and for tea etc

I think the difference is only that white sugar is a bleached brown sugar, so if that bleaching agent can cause any harm to your body then yes maybe brown is healthier than white.

I dont know why I babbled all that cause that made no sense. :smack:

white sugar is superior to brown sugar.......says history. White sugar also makes your skin color fair.

No although its a perception that brown sugar is healthier.

The brown sugar sold at grocery stores is actually white granulated sugar with added molasses. Brown sugar contain a little bit more minerals than white but thats in absolutely insignificant amount. So unless you are taking tons of sugar everyday, using brown or white is not going to make much difference.

white sugar is good for baking, but brown suga will bake, cook, clean, do your dishes, and dance to bollywood numbers.. (cue cherryblossom to come get mad)

if you're talking about the soft brown sugar, then no its not healthier, cause its just white sugar mixed with molasses. But, if you're talking about RAW sugar, which is also brown in colour but its hard granuales, then yes that is healthier than white sugar.

From what I've read, the difference is negligible, even with RAW sugar.

Brown sugar taste good in tea, its nice to have it every now and then.
