brown rice biryani

Re: brown rice biryani

now, why would pulao be good but biryani not?

naheen ji, aap bhi banayen, aap ko kis nay roka hai..
oh yeah i did make it in olive oil btw

oh say hi to TLK in the kunwaan please..

biryani is relatively heavy cuz loads of spices, and palao is not.
and if u use brown rice,it has this weird texture…so wo biryani nahi cho cho ki malia bun jata hai :hehe:

Re: brown rice biryani

No, but Zobs, biryani has more masala so the brown rice will taste juicier.

Re: brown rice biryani

I might try it out...to see if I like it.

My mom will get scared though and think I have a fever or something if I step into the kitchen. Then if it turns out good, she will tell my fiance who will find out I know how to cook and then want me to cook afterwards all the time.

Nope, sorry...no can do.

exactly, thats why when i had it with fish curry last week i thought it would work well as biryani as well.

Re: brown rice biryani

I think that best brown rice fit in desi food might be Kichree ..

well u can see X2 already has said they took more time to cook…chawal phele galay ga to baat hogi…taste juicier ki baat he baad main ayee gee :hehe:

ps. haha, if u wana remain in those healthy guidelines, also avoid spices/masalaz
cuz when they are cooked they loose the potency.

Lo ji, briyani with brown rice and no masala ..

itnee kiya museebat paree hai birayni khaanay kee ke briyani ke naam pe aadmi oat eal kahana shroo kar day

errr how exatly do you cook biryani zobia? I am intrigued now..

and no spices dont lose their potency 100% when they are cooked, dunno where you are reading that. warna jao kaccha garam maala khao

but again..mind explaining to me how you cook biryani? i am trying to understand the chawal galay gi wali baat.

Re: brown rice biryani

Zobs, you galao the rice 3/4 at least before you layer them for dum. So there's no issue there. As far as spices are concerned, we are trying to get the best ingredients from the grain and protein, not from the spices anyway.

hayee then why ruin the original biryani and go for brown rice :D

oats and eal hmmmm that can be an intriguing mix.
but lemme offer u this..couscous instead of oats,..and serve grilled eal on top with some chimichuri..ya?

exactly my concern about X2's concoction ....

You know, its amazing, I never tried couscous in my life although I so much want to ..

does it taste like Dalyaa (porridge) ?

Re: brown rice biryani

TLKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK, we had couscous at the exotic Ethiopian restaurant Blue Nile...in Detroit. It's quite yummy. Yaad hai?

bhabhi can you turn this shaitan haiwan into an insaan and expose him to the wonderful variety of global cuisine…:smack:

ji…daal hi gir gayee :stuck_out_tongue:

there are two ways to make the biryani…well i only know of two.

one is just put the bhigay-soaked rice in a pyrex dish …and layered them like with masala like you do lasagna, and put them in the oven.

and the other way is boiling them and then layered them and put it for the dumm…but when brown rice already talking load of time to get its haddi-centre soften the chances are entire thing will turn soggy.
cuz the best way to get this centre soften is to cook it on the low heat. but the more time rice will in be in contact with water the chances are it will all be mushy.

achi biryani is all about her dana alag alag :faizy:

Re: brown rice biryani

O Ok Niki .. I dont remember much, maybe cause it was about 10-11 years ago ...

abay chup kar X2, abhee mujhay daal chawal aur achaar kee dakaar aa rahi he .. lemme enjoy that

Re: brown rice biryani
