Brown is beautiful... read on

So i have an extremely pale complexion, used to be rosy before and all in all i I had a very light complexion, before I r i came to uk, Now i have gone all pale.. maybe its the weather, anyway I have been extremely unhappy with the way I look for the past year or so with a pale and unhealthy complexion.

So I was just playing around with my cosmetics yesterday and realized that most of the things I buyt are just coz they look pretty on the dressing table. Anyway to cut a long story short, I stumbled across a long forgotten Guerlain tinted moisturiser, with a strong hint oif brown. So I decided to try it on for a change, so here’s what I did.

Put a moisturiser on , it gave me a well-tanned look, it didn’t loook all that good in the beginning, then I applied soke really dark Blusher(surprise surprise it never looks good on me but with the tan it looked gorgeous), then I applied a lot of kohl on my eyes both on the upper and lower eyelids and then a bit of gold eyeshadow and lipgloss. And Viola… It looked reallygood if I must say so myself. Now I know why people go to the tanning salons, If you hate ur pale complexiojn brown is the best option, the best thing about being dark skinned is that you can over do the maekup and still get away with it because it gets blended in the skin easily… I must admit that My blusher wasn’t very good but just because of the brown tint it looked excellent.. so those of you who moan about their brown complexion please go and buy urself some good cosmetics and you’ll look ravishing. Honestly.

to all the pale ladies, The Tanning salon is definitely worth a visit. Being brown u can paint urself gold and it would still look gud.

i have medium skin that turns light in the winter and gets tanned in the summer. More reason to buy more makeup cuz i need different makeup for different seasons. teeeheee....
by the way orangish makeup looks fantastic on tanned skin....i recently braved and bought a sheer orangish-red lipstick and it looks freaking amazing when blended in to the lips.
mywish guerlain is a sought after brand in the US..i hate u :( i dont know where to buy it from.

I need some good cosmetic brushes, for blush, concealer, etc. Can you lovely ladies recommend a good brand?

I guess I should also add something on topic. :clown:

Are bronzers basically the same as applying a tan on yourself? I’ve tried the tan in a bottle before. It actually works!

Shweets.. guerlain do the most amazing concelaer ever... i have developed a lot of lines under my eyes,, and since I don't fit in te white.black/brown category I have always found it difficult to find stuff to suit my skin tone, theres is the only one that suits me. I have seen your pictures and I think that wud be really good for you as well.

And yes.. that's why I said bron is beautiful coz the more makeup you put on the better it looks... All those Indian and Pakistani girls who don't wear makeup thinking it won't suit them should go for some good brownish foundation and they would see the transformation for themselves. Those who are wise enough to realise it would know what I mean.

mehnaz i have a concealer brush from prescriptives and its fabulous. it goes well with their flawless concealer. for blush i use any brush from the drugstore.

I think bronzer and tanning sprays give different looks because most bronzers have a bit of shimmer in them. once i put on loreals sublime bronze spray on my leg to test it and after half a leg i was too tired (no color appeared) so i went to sleep. (the color is supposed to appear after a few hours). i woke up to half an orange leg hehe it was so kooky.:clown:

Mywish u are right. even at MAC counters the african american ladies look so gorgeous with heavy Mac makeup while the white ladies look like drag queens.

Vasanti cosmetics ... I like their concealer. It's for desi skin and I believe there is a branch in NYC.

Re: Brown is beautiful… read on

 i have white skin…but i ain’t pale i am:—>

i apply more pink on cheeks and lips:blush:…and gold on eyes …i think it’s not the color on skin that makes someone look more or less healthy…it’s the different shades on your face:D…if your eyes, cheeks and lips are the same tone…it’s bland:halo:even if you’re all black…but increasing the differences in shades in your face makes you look great :k:

ps, not enough exercise, bad diet habit (too many diets to get slim…or too much junk food,) and of course alcohol and smoking are responsible for “bland” skin…and unhealthy look…live healthy and make up won’t be needed;)
