KARACHI: **The police are searching for two men who killed their forty-five-year old mother in the jurisdiction of Mochko Police Station Saturday morning.
Some residents claim that Tariq and Shabbir were initially arrested by the police who released them after taking a bribe. “They are roaming around in the area and the police has not bothered to arrest them,” said resident Imran Khan.**
Nasreen Bibi’s husband Jehanzeb died around two years ago after which she remarried a man named Mushtaq. However, this marriage was not accepted by both families and Nasreen Bibi was compelled to live at her relative’s house in Block-D.
“The accused had also attempted to kill their mother twice earlier. Although she reported this to the police no action was taken against them,” said a policeman on the condition of anonymity.
The accused went to their relative’s house and shot Nasreen Bibi who died on the spot. Her body was later rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi.
Police lodged FIR No. 195/07 on behalf of Rashida Minhas, the deceased’s relative. The police refused to provide further information about the incident except the fact that the accused were from Mansehra and had fled.
