boi....a gal can be "physically attracted" to a guy that she doesnt know and then upon meeting it fizzles out. A physical attraction can be a good place to start but doesnt always end up in marital bliss. Personality and personal traits, outlook on life, etc are very important to gals...so sure, maybe your friend is physically attractive but apparently she found his personality not a match to hers.
