The annual mela is taking place this Sunday August 8th, starting at 11 AM onwards.
Location is Coney Island Avenue, between Foster avenue and Avenue I, I believe. Best way to get there is take the subway, Q train to Newkirk Avenue and walk 4 blocks to Coney Island Avenue.

Why do I not know about any parade/mela etc this year? I found out the annual parade got moved up to last week? Is it cu zof ramadan? I thought the parade s normally around the 27th? Oh well have fun :)
I think i might be in the bronx on sunday though :)

Yeah I hate that these things are usually word of mouth..i hardly ever know about them until like the day before
Yes they are to celebrate August 14th but since Ramadan is startign earlier every year, the date keeps getting pushed up too. Not sure how it will be in the next few years...:)
