Broken Capillaries on Face( spider veins)

I have a few areas of broken capillaries on my face. I am considering having them removed. There are two popular ways of getting rid of them: Sclerotherapy and laser removal. The first one requires the doctor to inject a solution directly into the vein causing the blood to clot and the blood vessel to collapse. The laser method, heats up the vein and destroys it.

Has anyone had either of these procedures on their face? I would prefer laser as the capillaries are tiny on my face and the former method won’t work that well. BUT I am also tan and might get burnt with the laser hence no one will prob do the laser procedure on my face. If you’ve had success with either of these treatments, can you please share your experience. It’d be great if you could also share your doc information (if you live in north central USA)

A less invasive way is to use topical creams containing Vitamin K. If I had the patience and discipline to use those, I probably would, but unfortunately I don’t:(

Thanks!!

Re: Broken Capillaries on Face( spider veins)

neither!

advanced electrolysis is the simplest way. it's quick, it's simple and it's most cost effective.

there are no other side effects than some redness of the area that subsides after a while.

How long did it take for your capillaries to disappear? Sclerotherapy takes a few weeks, not too sure about laser

Re: Broken Capillaries on Face( spider veins)

I did not have capillaries. I have electrolysis for hair removal and had some milia removed using advanced electrolysis.. which is one zap and it's completely gone.

I believe that Laser takes multiple sessions and leaves purplish bruising for a few days and it would work out a lot more expensive unless you are having a large area treated.

Advanced Electrolysis on capillaries depends on how many you have and how big they are. A single one might require one zap or multiple ones (over a few sessions). The best thing would be to go for a consult and the electrologist will estimate how many treatments and approx how long they should be.

Thanks for the info. I am trying to schedule a consultation soon. Let's see what they say:)
