I think in the US there is a show called Gracepoint, similar to/based on this show. Lead roles are that dude from Dr. Who and girl is Walter White's wife from Breaking Bad. Also has Nick Nolte in a key role ( takes you a while to recognize him though ).

and US shows may copy/be similar, but use such fakely handsome and bootifool actresses, it just will never match up. CSI technicians with 2 inches of caked on foundation.. ugh wtf
