Brittle hair

Im sure this has been asked countless times before but anyways. I have brittle easy breakable hair and I do the commonly prescribed home remedy of applying** yogurt + mustard/coconut oil** for 2 hours before rinsing. I do it twice a week.

Although it does have the effect of making the hair feel stronger and thicker, the effect is temporary and lasts only for a day. The hair return to their normal condition soon afterwards.

Is there a more permanent long lasting home remedy?

Re: Brittle hair

How often do you wash your hair? Shampooing it everyday can strip hair of its natural oils for some people, making hair more dry and weak.

Re: Brittle hair

Take a look at the products you're using. The shampoo and conditioners. Sometimes people who have easily breakable hair (myself included) need to use more conditioner than normal.

Also, look for products that are sulfate and alcohol free. These things dry out our hair completely...avoid anything that promises to "volumize" because that will dry your hair out as well.

Other than that...just oil as much as you can.

Re: Brittle hair

Brittle hairs is the simplistic term used for something called Telogen Effluvium ! There's loads of useful information abt it , u can easily google it :)

Re: Brittle hair

Re: Brittle hair

Please get your thyroid checked as well. Brittle hair is one of the symptoms of a thyroid imbalance.

Try using coconut oil alone.
