For people who think only radicalized jihadists are working/fighting in the Syrian opposition and arming them would be a mistake.

This brother has my utmost respect he sacrificed his life to help the poor people of Syria who being slaughtered by the Butcher Assad and his forces.
These people who leave their comfortable lives in the west or in muslim countries to help the poor and defenseless are the real heros for muslims!

He could have easily served in other safer places where he is more needed...for example: slums of pakistan, india and bangladesh or most of africa.

Well, do you mean what you say? Does safety have anything to do with it? Why is it okay for Indian and Pakistani expat doctors to work in Western hospitals for $$$, while they are needed more in Pakistan, India, etc? Does either safety or need have anything to do with a person sacrificing his time and money for a cause with no apparent reward for this effort? Is not the latter impressive on it's own accord, unless of course you're either racist (screw dem Ah-rabs, they don't deserve our help) or ideologically aligned (Assad good, rebels evil)?

this is ridiculous. maybe he is syrian or arab, and was there to help people at a time when they needed it most. it says he'd already worked in the area before.

Actually no. He was a south indian muslim with family origin of Kerala or Hyderabad.
