The 15 year-old son of one of the women acted as mehram (I know groups of women are able to get Hajj visas without a family mehram but might need to use an agency, can’t remember the exact details)..

They saved up their government benefits to fund the trip as well.. how ironic.. hope they’re stopped from taking any more advantage..

You know usually what kind of muslims end up becoming extremists…the clueless kind. They have no idea that the “scholar” they like to follow on Twitter or FB is actually not traditional muslim and is influenced by wahabi ideology. They’re the ones who’d jump on you for exposing such kind…blaming you of sectarianism and being judgemental and what not. I feel sorry for them.

These “scholars” need to make it openly known where they got their training from. Who did they study under etc.

There is NO PLACE for the concept of “clergy” in Islam. There is no pope. So yes, there are people who are educated and who teach, but even the Quran tells us to go to the person of knowledge regarding any given topic. So these people are OBLIGATED to tell us their credentials.

Like I mentioned in my blog, we had a 21 year old boy arrested here in Florida who was caught approaching children for sex. He was running an “Islamic institute” whatever the hell that means these days for these pieces of slime. Only “training” he had was a psychology degree from a state university that not even B-grade students want to go to.

A lot of educated people do move out of majority desi areas…that’s why you’d find less racism in countryside and mixed areas.

But having said that we can’t deny the “white flight” phenomena.

Although all the husbands are saying that they had perfect marriages without problems, some of the newspapers are quoting friends of the women as saying that they were experiences severe issues with their husbands.

I suspect that these women were probably afraid of and trying to escape from their husbands - to go to a place where there husbands would not be able to get to them or to their children. With a brother who is already in ISIS they had family who could shelter them in ISIS controlled territory. In the UK or in Pakistan the husbands would have legal or extra-legal ways to reach them - in ISISland they wouldn’t face that.

I can imagine these men had troublesome marriages with these women…if your wife is crazy in the head, and has crazy religious ideas, there will naturally be clashes.

What would you do if your wife was one of these crazies? Or she got brainwashed somewhere along the way??

Generally speaking it’s meant to be when he reaches puberty.. 15 is probably fine for the Saudis..

I’ve heard of boys as young as 12 acting as mehrams there (unofficially), driving their Mums around etc
