Re: Britain Goes Halal
similarly, how many people have been in a regular meat processing plant and seen what goes on there, before the animals are slaughtered and when they are slaughtered. so when people complain along cruelty lines, they should just go vegan I suppose. or not eat things like pate’ or veal. and the conditions at large scale poultry farms, and cattle ranches are not very humane either.
I am in full support of source of ingredients clearly listed out whether it is halal, kosher, contains preservatives, contains pork byproducts. full disclosure. and then let people decide whether they want it or not. I have equal sympathy with someone who does not want to eat zabeeha or kosher but eats it without knowing it was that, and with some vegetarian who eats something without knowing it had animal ingredients in it, or someone eating something and not knowing that it had porcine ingredients in it.
and lets not limit it to animal suffering please…label products clearly which are made in factories with children or with poor working conditions, diamond pricetags should have a label noting its a blood diamond, or veggies which were picked by underpaid illegal immigrants etc..because human rights can not be ignored ![]()
