I never understood why some non-Muslims seem to need to interfere that much in the way we practice our deen. Other notable examples include halal meat. Also, a couple of years ago, Muslims in a Toronto high school were praying Juma. There were some people (who had no involvement in the school or the salat) who had to whine about how they're not respecting gender equality by having the boys pray in front with the girls behind.
