Brits beat French in underwear sales

Women in the UK spend an average of £72 a year on underwear - ahead of the rest of Europe - with British men forking out less than £14.
The survey, designed to promote the International Lingerie fair opening in Paris, has left the industry amazed that British women outspend French women in any department of clothes fashion.
But the details reveal a different truth - French females spend more on bras and panties, while British women buy more nighties and warm vests for winter, which puts them in the lead.
In any case the difference is small, with the French spending just under £71.50 a year, followed by German women (£56 a year), Italians (£54) and the Spanish (£49.50).
According to the French Institute of Fashion, which compiled the study, the European lingerie industry is worth about £10.5 billion in 2003.
Only the Chinese and Indian lingerie markets are larger, with China supplying a significant proportion of the lingerie sold in Europe - a quarter of the bras, one third of the underpants and nearly half the nightshirts.

Oh its not fascination, doll. It is a simple matter of finance, exports and consumption. I want to know which brand do women (GS in particular) like. Come on don't be shy lets hear 'em. You know Victorias not so secret secret, JC penny, Macy, Bloomies, Kohls, they all are manufactured in sweatshops in Guam, India and China. But I want to know the preferences, is it Pennies, Macy, VS..

On a serious note, you're a married man. The only woman that should matter to you is your wife. Why would you need to know what other women wear? I think its ridiculous.

No specific brand name...almost always natural fibres....something that holds yet does not smother...and the more colors teh better..infact I always match me undies with what Im wearing.
