Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...
Travel between the US and UK is visa free for the most part. My husband and I go back and forth every couple of years and have never needed a visa. The girl will need to apply for a fiancee visa or have her husband sponsor her the same as anyone else, though. If he sponsors her for a green card they may need to prove that they have/are living together and are actually married. I would recommend that she return to the UK and apply from there, as the wait times will be shorter and the embassy staff tend to be more helpful.
Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...
You can't live in America without a visa. Under the Visa Waiver program you can enter the USA for up to a maximum of 3 months at a time, but you are not allowed to work or be educated during that time.
You will have to apply for immigration in the same way as any other foreign spouse.
Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...
it doesn't matter what passport you have- if you are married to an american it changes your status and your reasons for entering the country. yes your spouse has to apply for you and get you in on a spousal visa OR you just don't admit you're married to an american and come in on a visit visa.

Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...
Is it possible for the grl to visit USA while the fiancee visa will b in process...
because i guess, what i've heard of Pakistani passport is that once u apply u cannot travel anylonger on the visa whether it's multiple 5 yrs... any idea? so is it same with other passports.
Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...
I am a British citizen, married to a US citizen. I was in US legally already when we got married and we just filed for greencard, got the initial one year card the same day. then teh conditional one and then the permanent one.
Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...

so now u have a green card, rite. u can live in America 4ever now or what..??
is it possible to change ur passport as well, or its better to stay with the british passport.i've heard that u can get green card from the embassy in london.. dunno how, lol!
Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...
no no, no confusion at all, I should have been more clear in my first post here.
I was a student and was on my practical training. we did get married in US, most of our families are here anyways.
yeah once u have the greencard you are basically a permanent resident, u have to renew it every decade or so. u can apply for citizenship and get a US passport, and you can keep the UK passport as well.
Re: Bristish girls engaged/married to American guys...
My husband is British, I'm American.
He applied for the fiance visa before we were married. When he got it, we did the civil ceremony in the US. Thankfully, all the processing has gone fine.
We did the actual wedding festivities in Pakistan, though.
