Bringing wife to North America

For a fiancée visa it takes 6 months. (You have to get married within 90 days)
If you’re a US citizen(not in your case) it’s from 10months-2years(depends if you get your visa at the interview or not)
If you’re have a green card then 3 years minimum and can be more then that (3-5 years)
Lol I know a lot of people who came to America recently so have a little bit of knowledge on this.

Spouses of those on Student visa, F1 (the spouses get F4) and H1 (spouses get H4) get processed fairly quickly. I would say its one of the fastest ones. If they decide to to take their time for security clearnce it may take upto a year otherwise it could take as little as a month. Its best to have both H1 and H4 visas processed simultaneously so that the spouse can accompany the H1 (work visa holder. Most people get married during their H1 phase because that’s how their spouses can come faster to the US.

Then after H1 you get a greencard (if sponsored by employer or other means). The Greencard holder’s spouse takes the longest time upto 5 years.

US citizens spouses fastest time is one year but can take 2 and a half years. With 1 and a half years being the average time.

Best for US citizens is to sponsor their spouses to be on a fiancee visa which takes about 3-6 months to get and then marry them here. Lots of people already get the Islamic marriage done in Pakistan etc. and then do the civil marriage part here. There is a specific time limit to get married if your spouse is approved for a fiance visa.
