After all of the mass killings, vicious crimes, and genocide murdering committed in Bosnia, finally there are some good news from that region……I decided to open up a thread for Bosnian region as this region is least discussed at our forum….
INteresting story P-desi ( sounds like p-diddy).. it appears that for the most part Bosnia is off our collective radar screens in the world even though issues continue. There are enough issues in that part of the world that small steps like bridges may make a slow change but it will take time. I know a few Bosnians here, and what they have been thru, seen and seen their freinds and families go thru is not going to just b wiped clean.
As of now none of the Bosnians I know here have any plans to move back due to skepticism about what the future holds for them there. For them US is now home and gives them much more security and wellbeing.
bosnia what a nightmare for the muslims.
I was in europe at the time of this conflict and never even heard of bosnia and never even had a clue there was muslims there.
But the what happened there no muslims can forget, and as the world watched i belive this incident along with the whole world fighting against iraq the 2 main reasons for the birth of political islamic in places like UK, France and rest of europe.
I did not see any self declared defenders of the faith types really doign much either. Thankfully US stepped up and helped the poor Bosnians out.

:biggthumb :biggthumb to Bill Clinton for doing that..... His autobiography My Life clearly indicates the political hindrances he had to face before he finally ordered NATO to launch air strikes against Milosevic forces…and most of the political mess he faced was created by European countries…. Europeans countries simple did not want to do anything to protect Bosnian Muslims of Milosevic’s atrocities…….and today some of these European countries are criticizing USA for its attacks on Iraq……huh….Not because they are in love with Iraqi Muslims but because they are not going to get enough share of Iraqi oil.
Nevertheless, I have to say Bill Clinton is simply an awesome person at his heart. A person who really is beyond racial discrimination. I was deeply touched by all of his efforts for Bosnia, Middle East and for African Americans. Trust me if it were not Clinton in the white house at that time, Bosnian Muslims would still be in a big mess. I really recommend Guppies to read "My Life"….
Make sure to catch Clinton's speech tonight at the Democratic convention 10 pm EST.

Sometimes people like talking a lot and don't look at the facts!
For your information many of the brothers sacrificed themselves by going to bosnia and fighting and dying while others did what they could in bringing food and medicine but when they got there the Muslims did'nt want food or medicine they wanted weapons because they where being raped and killed. The Europeans and west installed weapons embargo very convenient.
The bosnians are not poor they are proud people for your information. They never asked for nothing except the ability to defend themselves!
Your beloved USa decided to move 4 years after the slaughter started and the muslims began to have the upper hand. Why is that where were they before that.

and sometimes people like talking without understanding what was being said.

well it seems like not enough "brothers" sacrificed eh. some just stayed back and yip yapped, and continue to yip yap..while those who were going to do something about it went and did something even if it cost them their lives.
** others did what they could in bringing food and medicine but when they got there the Muslims did'nt want food or medicine they wanted weapons because they where being raped and killed. **
and these other "brothers" came back, did not fight against the injustice?
did you go? or were you not a "brother" then. dis major mouthpieces of idiotic publications go and do what they were preaching?..no, they are still just making idiotic sermons and passing out idiotic literature..
The bosnians are not poor they are proud people for your information. They never asked for nothing except the ability to defend themselves!
chanda...the word "poor" was not used as in short of money or ghareeb, but as misfortunate or "baycharay"
btw I know enough Bosians that I dont need you to tell me that they are proud people for my information
*Your beloved USa decided to move 4 years after the slaughter started and the muslims began to have the upper hand. Why is that where were they before that. *
My beloved USA decided to move atleast..how many of your beloved leaders did anything? US had constantly pressured for more to be done..Europeans in general and eastern europeans in specific were against US....in the end US had to twist their arms to go do what was right because no other country and no other group could out walk the walk.
If empty rhetoric like your comrades could make a difference then bravo, you guys did a whole lot. Ground reality is that empty rhetoric does not do jack.
In the end results were achieved due to US actions, not due to rhetoric by "brothers". Yes if US had made a move earlier many people could ahve been saved, but had US not moved at all many who were saved would not have been saved. As much as I feel that US should have made a move before it did, I am thankful that is did something to end the mess.
Those who knew the value of defending the innocents went there and fought like brave men, and that includes the Americans even if they came there after those few defenders of faith. But the whole thing shows us that when states, such as the current Muslim states and its leadership fails to defend other muslims in a just cause, individuals will come forward and do the duty.
So before we ask the question that why there were not enough individual "defenders of faith" in Bosnia, Shouldn’t we ask the muslim leadership why didn’t it react? Why the state armies were not used? It was the failure of Muslim states. It’s the leadership, which is spineless, not the individual defenders of faith.
I think that the whole issue boils down to non-representative governments, until we have these there is no way we will be able to defend anyone let alone muslims.
Minime
I am in no way defending the impotence of the muslim countries when it comes to this issue.

so did you go to bosnia and fight the serbs?
Secondly muslim countries where more than willing to send armies but Europe and The Us prevented any weapons and military into the country!
It seems you are yip yapping too much yourself look in the mirror before you criticize others!

Very good points mini me
The muslim governments most of them wanted to send aid which was not very worthwile when people just being fed and then slaughtered, while others wanted to send weapons but where prevented at the borders.
Mashallah the muslim ummah has millions of sincere muslims who do good action.
