What were the proceedings in your wedding
- How many dresses and which type did you make? formal shalwar kameez, casual shalwar kameez, pants, sweaters. shirts etc.
- Did you take any bedding?
- Did your in-laws make any barri or they gave you money or just made valima dress and gave nothing?
- Since you have shoes, bags, lots of clothes, other personal items … how did you not go over weight with your luggage? did you leave some items here?
Re: Brides - Who went abroad?
my sister went to bahrain to london.....
well actually she went bahrain - bombay - far-east- london coz the wedding was in bombay. Then she went for her honeymoon directly after the wedding and then to London.
- for desi clothes : depends on how active your husband is in the social circles, do u have any relatives where you are going ??? what time of the year you are shifting, if its ramadan , eid you will need more clothes etc. Also depends on how soon you are planning to visit Pak again ?? So stock up accordingly.
for western wear, u will get much better clothes where ever your going?? so do not hoard. Only essentials and a few good winter clothes.
Dear me do not taking any bedding with you, I am assuming you are moving to the UK?? You get amazing things there and not everything is very exp. Ikea for eg.
My sister's in laws gave her jewelry and clothes, which she sent back with them along with all her wedding jewelry plus wht ever we had given her, they gave it to her when she landed there after honeymoon.
And to point 4 : well we sent one piece of luggage each with each member of his family. Since my brother in law has 3 sisters and 1 brother, so it was a piece of cake. All my sister's stuff was already there before she reached. She just went with one medium sized suitcase.
The thing is, if you do not have someone to take your luggage for you then the next best option is cargo. But I suggest, do not take unnecessary things there, Only what you absolutely cannot live without. There is going to be plenty amazing things for you to buy in your new country.
