My cousin wore a white and red saree for her civil marriage .... and she had a matching red duppata made for her to wear on her head ......... it looked BEAUTIFUL. its better off getting a seperate duppata custom made with the saree :)

PLUS pakistani woman have the look of pulling anything off!!

i went to a bengali wedding and the bride wore a white with a gold border and kaam and then a separate dupatta on top..i think it was a gold material and the material was sheer..sorta like net. it looked nice on her.

yeah most bengali weddings do the saree for the bride, for all the events. sometimes they look nice, sometimes not so much. :X

now most bengali brides opt for lehengas rather than sarees... i love sarees but i dnt think i can pull them off ..maybe on my haldi i'll wear one.. but all other days its gonna b lehenga :)

my parents in law wanted 2 wear me saree on valima but my mother in law couldln't find a good one

I think sari would be appropriate for valima.

Yeah, a lot of them do seem to wear lengha rather than sarees nowadays.. My SIL is Bengali and she wore a lengha..
