Re: Brides mother

Ooh a nice sharara for the wedding! Or I saw a pic in another thread which was wonderful, something like these:

I’ll post a few more pics later!

Re: Brides mother

I really don’t like it when I see lehngas or shararas on the bride’s or groom’s mother. It feel it just lacks class and sophistication, idk why.

However, I do think a long shirt paired with slightly wider trousers like some of the ladies in the photo above looks good for at least one of the main events. For my cousin’s wedding, for my mum, I recently made her a 4 panelled dressed without chaak, so it was fitted until the waist and then had a slight A-line shape, skimming over her hips. My cousin’s khala also had the exact same style outfit but in different fabric. They both looked really good.

I just remembered a photo to post where the bride’s mum is looking great and looking at it closely, it’s actually made the same too:

Re: Brides mother

She is not gonna wear, sharara, sari, gharara, churidar, not even a plain trouser with kamiz.

Only shalwar kamiz, i need some decent design.

Re: Brides mother

I think the best thing to do then, is to take her around and get some decent fabric to get that stitched in whatever kameez design she normally wears? There's no point looking at kameez designs themselves because they may not be available, might better to have a look at the fabrics instead.

When my brother got married, thats what we did for a few of my aunts/khalas and they got it stitched by a tailor.

What area does the bride/mother live in?

Re: Brides mother

With adjustments to colours, sleeves etc as necessary:

Re: Brides mother

Karma bride - show her a few ideas and see what she says. My mum was really against trousers too but I pretty much forced her and she loved it. I think because the shirt was so long and there were no chaak so you couldn't see the hips.

Re: Brides mother

mom's always look great in traditional ghararas. so elegant!

Agreed!!!!

Re: Brides mother

beautiful family indeed.parents should take care of their looks too.

Re: Brides mother

My mom was too into shalwar kameez style, but When I made long shirts (with chaak) and trouser (wide bottom) for her. She not only looked great but loved it as well. . Try n convince ur mom. believe me she 'd look elegantly goodi nto tht.

Re: Brides mother

agreed.fabric and coulur would inhance your mom looks and grace itself.try to make whats she is comfortable with rather forcing her into something she'd feel worried all the time.

Re: Brides mother

is ur mum is fat mean belly or hip prominent?
pardon me but at this mostly women hv.
SO long shirts and trouser. it ook elegant.and yah trouser like shalwar also there. as my mum stitched at my engagement. it also look good. dont feel like shalwar.
