you know maybe i have posted this on another thread…because a lot has happened that was really hurtful both before the wedding during the wedding and after the wedding and i havent had the chance to have those feelings of hurt addressed by hubby in fact he is the one who was the most hurtful anyways whatcha gonna do ryte
I joined Gupshup when I came down with swine flu… oh trust me… I know about your illness probably better than anyone else on these boards. Freaking spent 2 days in the hospital then another 3 weeks basically isolated from the world because everyone was scared they were going to get infected . It was lonely and pretty miserable… but gup shup got me thru the days and nights it was my saving grace as I see it is for you as well
I am not! Well they can have their opinions and this bhabi can have hers. I want to be a nandh tho. Or a devraani. Your choice.
“Saving grace” is a polite term for what I think of this place; yet, it’s like a gory trainwreck: I can’t look away.
I wasn’t referring to you, but most of the GS ladies at large, regardless of age; pretty much everything that comes out of my mouth is viewed as a source of shock and consternation.
Well I haven't watched the video. But I am sure she did what she thought was best. No one wants to look ugly on their wedding day. I can say that because I come from a town where we are blessed to have even MAC. There is abolutely nothing there. If I got married there, what choice would I have?? Oh and no place close by had a good desi MUA. No kidding. So really I am sure the girl did try her best! Anyone could be in the "small, unknown town" situation or even worse.
** Anymore good shaadi stories Roxx?? Lets hear them... I know u have plenty...**
Sadly: no. I do have some pretty gruesome rishta stories, though I'm saving those for another thread.
No, actually, I do have a few good tales of outright Pakiness in the face of matrimony, but right now my brain is fried and my bowels are emptied. I promise to share my tales of woe once I've rested and recovered.
I the meantime, ladies: keep those stories coming.
Roxx u are funny.... hate to admit this but I got my makeup done at a MAC store but that is coz the only MUA in this Godforsaken place who would listen to me and give me a trial was a MAC mua.... so I went with her... sadly it was not her day off so I walked into the mall... awesome thing was we were in a room in the back... and I had the driver park at the door next to the store so I could rush out on a lazy weekend afternoon ....... the things u say yes to just to get the look you want on your big day .... :)
Well I haven't watched the video. But I am sure she did what she thought was best.
They said the same of Lot's daughters, but that doesn't make what they did right.
No one wants to look ugly on their wedding day.
No one wants to die, either, but you don't always have a choice.
I can say that because I come from a town where we are blessed to have even MAC. There is abolutely nothing there.
That sounds less like a blessing and more like a curse.
If I got married there, what choice would I have??
I have a suicide manual if you need suggestions. Anything is better than MAC!
Oh and no place close by had a good desi MUA. No kidding.
I know you're not kidding because there's no such thing as a “good desi MUA”; the phrase itself is an oxymoron.
So really I am sure the girl did try her best!
As I'm trying my best to keep a straight face right now.
Anyone could be in the "small, unknown town" situation or even worse.
There is no "worse". Should you find yourself in said situation: run. Run away, and never look back; the alternatives are too horrible to comprehend! shudders
Roxx please stop being so rude and not understanding. and no its not a video of my wedding (before u try that line on me).
apparently u haven't been in a situation that some ppl have to deal with. Why shld she miss out on her wedding pictures and more...just cuz there wasn't a better makeup artist avabl.

I know, my love: I grieve with you. That said: your story is different as you didn't hire a videographer to ensure the whole thing was captured on tape. Your actions were dictated by dire necessity and not a perverse sense of (Paki) pride.
You are forgiven, my child; now say 3 Hail Marys and go wash yourself in holy water.
u my darling are funnnnnnnnnnnyyyyy... I am cracking up....
like I said I went to her to make me look good for my photoshoot and wedding reception .... I don't think anyone can look good sitting in their chairs with all the girls running around and to take a pic of that.......and ppl walking into the store taking a peek.... gosh I hated it when they did this at my trial.... customers walking up to me and looking at what she was doing....
(this reminds me ever seen all those desis visiting malls and standing infront of stores clicking away... dude I would understand if it was a gorgeous waterfall but a footlocker...oh this is another thread)
wow...it seems like roxx has a huge personal issue with the bride being ridiculed in the first post. she may not even know that her video has been posted on youtube...and who are we to decide whether she looked good or not. i mean her hubby seems to adore her, she's smiling alot, and who knows when mine or roxx's or anyone else's own wedding pictures may end up on this forum with someone else criticizing them. whether its for makeup, hair, dress, venue, or even the husband! just sayin...i mean i know us girls just love to hate on each other to prove our superiority but havin a lil respect won't hurt either.
Bride, guests, bridal party, etc… The list goes on. Do you actually have something to contribute, or are you just here for the food?
My sincerest condolences.
I was going to point out that the post was about the “Paki”-ness of her behavior and not her actual appearance, but I figured: why even bother?
Are you saying you have one to submit?
The topic of this thread is “behavior”, as per my first post. Just sayin’.
Your reply has proven nothing, if not that.
Seriously, though girls: I understand that a few of you seem to approach my threads with about as much humor and merriment as a 30-minute snuff film, so to make my intentions perfectly clear:
Everyone with a sense of humor and good stories to tell: welcome. Everyone else: to the left, to the left!

What 'natural wonder' could compare with the beauty and majesty of a suburban Footlocker?!? You, of all people, should be able to appreciate that!
