Who all are getting married/engaged this year? And when? Also, how are your preparations coming along?

This year iA, but so far I haven't picked out any outfit. Mehndi + Barat I'll decide once I get to Pakistan. I am just stressing myself out by overthinking it. SO best solution is to STOP looking online and just go to actual shops, try them on, fall in love with an outfit and buy it. :)

I'm more relaxed now bcaz I went to bridal shops here and was able to fall in love with an absolutely gorgeous mehndi outfit, so in Pakistan with more variety I'm sure the same would happen.

How are your preparations?

Oh yea for other preps same thing. Nothing much done. Right now our priority is booking venue for both occasions. Everything else we'll take care of once we get to Pakistan.

I'm getting married in September. I literally could not give less a d*** about preparations. My mum is sorting everything out and is fretting over the fact that my dupatta has been made wrong, or something. But I just can't bring myself to care.

i am marrying the love of my life and would go up the aisle in a pair of jeans if needs be. Really, really can't get into the mindset of brides who get worked up over details. Kudos to all of you who have enthusiasm and a vision for the day, but I just can't be bothered to invest any effort in the process.

i feel very serene as a result. Would highly recommend the "who gives a s***" philosophy to those who don't want to lose all their hopes and dreams and hair in the planning process.

I met him 3 years ago at university. We were friends for a couple of months but fell in love pretty quickly. Because of a variety of circumstances, we couldn’t get married as soon as we would like. I was still at Med school and he was struggling to find a job as a lawyer. Those were immensely difficult times, I have never felt so isolated and so burdened in my life. It is very difficult to see the person you love suffer (a variety of even more serious reasons that I won’t go into now,meant that his unemployment was particularly severe and difficult to bear for him) especially when you cannot be there for them to support them as much as you would like because you are not married. My parents refused to let me marry until he found a job.

Now, alhamdullilah, he has found an excellent job and I am really proud of him. But more importantly he is the most relaxed and happy and looking forward to life, and we are no longer stuck in this hellish limbo with no end in sight.

My my experiences have given me a lot of respective, and after the struggled we have been through, we really don’t mind how the wedding happens, as long as it happens!

Getting married next month august and extremely tense. My wedding dresses are ordered from Lahore and are in process but still tenses about jewellery. I live abroad too and dont know what to choose .

P.s Please give me some beauty tips :bummer:

I’m curious about this…won’t your in-laws be bringing the jewellery? Usually in my family, the in-laws provide and/or pay for the baraat and valima dress, accessories, etc. The bride’s family does the same for the groom.

Yeah they paid me for the walima dress and the jewellery and I have to choose. I need some suggestions on this?

And I am so confused about what makeup artist to choose haha as I'm out of Pakistan

my cousin got married last week, her prep was all done, but her makeup artist cancelled on her last minute, we ended up to have to get a last minute makeup artist, luckily we found one, she was very young about 19/20, but very kind. she helped my cousin do her looks and even offered to do bridesmaids makeup too and free makeup for her to keep. all i would say is to brides, make sure you get a reliable makeup artist

which country are you planning to get married in? if pakistan, jhelum area is quite good a lot of good makeup artists
