i want to have an idea of how a baraat bride will look with tiny earings (4cm long)…
would you ahve any pics?
my parents insist i wear the set they gave me as its real gold but its so small..i don mind a tiny and thin necklace as i am adding a big mala but the earings are hardly visible for a bride.
If youve got a malaa your earrings wont be noticed i do feel that while they shouldnt be massive its always nice to have the earrings seen. Depends what style they are? Are u able to post pics?
Seen alot of brides nowdays wear smaller sets but 4cms seems really tiny
The dupatta and your hair style will play a MAJOR role in how the earrings look on the baraat day. If you google pics, you will see plenty of pictures where the earrings are hardly visible or not at all depending on how the bride did her hair and how the dupatta was set.
If your earrings are small, then I would recommend getting a dupatta with a border with a lot of kaam and getting a dupatta setting that frames your face (ie. around your ears if that makes sense). You should also look at hair styles where there is loose hair framing your face/around the ears as opposed to having all your hair pulled back where your ears are clearly visible.
those earrings are around 4 cm / 1.5 " .... really it doesn't have to be big jewelry to look elegant on your bridal day. but just google small earrings bridal you will find tons of pics. Also what the above person said, i agree with them.

very nice idea! hadnt thought of this at all!
i am just scared my maekup artist wont let me decide on how to do the hairstyle and dupatta settings.
I heard most of them do their own way regardless of what the bride wants.

i guess you are right..
i started to get conscious as my inlaws ordered a very heavey suit for my walima with big jewellery...it might overstaqge my simple look on the baraat..i alwas liked simple..but the inlaws have the opposite taste.
I posted link to a few pics below to give you an idea as to what I’m talking about. Notice how the earrings are not a major focus on any of these pics due to hair and/or dupatta. There are TONS more pics on google.
I dunno how things work in other places but I did a makeup/hair trial and had no problem getting what I wanted. This is the time for you to also talk to your mom and whoever else is going to be with you while your getting hair done so that they can also stand up for you and make sure you get what you want. Get your mom/whoever is accompanying you on your side regarding how you want your hair/dupatta set.
Notice how the colors/design of this dupatta totally blends in with the jewelry. On one side, the dupatta totally blends in with her earrings and on the other side, she has flowers. Her earrings don’t stand out at all due to those choices.
^ hmm i get your point. i will have my sister with me..the wedding is in Pak-Islb and we booked Sadaf Farhan. Unfortunately i will not have time for a trial but i will print these pics to give her the general idea.
I wasn’t comparing my parents with my in-laws...for me, it has been a battle between my in-laws and parents VS me and my sisters.
The elders still cannot accept that i went for a light peachy dress for the baraat...they wanted red !
Oh well I hope it all goes well IA and that i am able to impress both parents on D Day :)
I think it will look lovely, iA. Very elegant. Just make it a deliberate part of the look and don't feel the need to apologize or make excuses for it. Own it. I don't think small earrings will necessary result in a look that is too "simple."
