My dadi’s brother, Captain Mateen Ahmed Ansari, 5th Battalion of the 7th Rajput Rifles Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the British Empire’s second highest medal for bravery for his actions as a prisoner of war on Hong Kong before the Japanese cut his head off in 1943.
