Hey Everyone 
So here’s the deal. My friends are throwing me a “surprise” bridal shower, but my mom told me about it…lol…she wasn’t supposed to but she did anyway. And she said don’t tell anyone I know about it. I’ll just have to ACT surprised…lol…So basically I just need some ideas about what to wear to my bridal shower…My mom did say that my friends are going to be dressing in “western” clothes. So what do you think??

hey. First of Congrats! I would recommend if you have a skirt or sth wear that.. lolz i'm not talking bout knee high skirt..i've a few skirts, which are full length and they kinda hug my body (u know how the western dresses are long and body hugging, tat's how it is )n they look very western but they come wth a dupatta so tat gives it a desi touch. so if u've sth like tat or can get sth like tat then tat's my recommendation.
but if u don't then watever u wear do make sure u've a lil bit of desi touch to it cuz wat's the desi bridal shower without desi clothes lol

hmmm... as everyone is going for western outfits, how about a nice and bright kurta with work and sequins and jeans with nice big earring, churiyaan etc, or eastern if you want to keep it different than all the rest. it'll be fab too. Wear whatever you're comfortable with :=)

ohh good, this is soo funny, because i had a surprise bridal shower for my sister, but the good thing is that she never found out....but emm i did everything even what she wore. and I had planned for everyone to wear cocktail dress (mine and her friends) and the moms in shalwar kamez and she wore a long summer dress. but emm don't go crazzy thinking of it too much because there is a good chance she already has something for you, i mean it is a surprise...
yay :). my sisters and friend are throwing me a bridal shower too! what are some things you ladies have done for bridal showers? what kinds of games did you arrange and play? what did you serve as appetizers, main meals, desserts? what did you hand out as party favors and game prizes?

oh man, if its just going to be all girls i'd get a party/prom type dress, u know short/knee length, halter top etc... But that's just me :@:

IF its all girls then go nuts! Buy yourself an adorable dress, heels and get your hair done. You only live once and how many times will you have an opportunity to dress up like this? :) Good Luck!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Too bad your mom ruined the surprise for you hehe, hope you are a good actress :CareBear:
For what to wear --I think it depends on how your sister was planning on getting you to come to the surprise shower. If for example, she had told you that you guys were going out to a dinner or party at a friend’s, then you can dress up a little, because you normally would have in this case. But if she just told you something like she wants to meet up for coffee or just go shopping or something, she might be a little suspicious if you show up in a prom dress and an updo! 
LOL
So depends on the situation. If you think they wont be surprised to see you dressed up, then chose something that you like, look great in, feel comfortable in. A cute knee-length dress maybe, or a skirt and shirt, or nice pants and a top

But ya, usually bridal showers have games. You can find a whole ton of game ideas online. Depending on the time they occur, you serve appetizers or a lunch. Whats a party without desserts :) Yup party favors for guests when they are leaving and prizes to winners of the game, can be a variety of things, chocolates and scented candles are typical, can get more creative. Can decorate the place real nice. And then near the end, gift opening

Omg you all are so sweet for replying Thank you Soooo it’s going to be at my house and apparently I’m going to be told we’re going to a “party” so I guess I’ll be dressing up a little. Sara, I would lovvvve to get one of those cute prom dresses 
The only thing is I’m not sure exactly who has been invited…sooo I don’t want to be wearing something that’s politically incorrect if you know what I mean. There’s a website called www.bridalshower.com it has a lot of great ideas
So I’m thinking either I’ll get a long dress with some kind of shawl or jeans with a cute top OR dress pants with a cute top.

you could always wear a nice promy dress but wear one of those short cardigans or wraps over it.... and if its ppl you feel comfortable around you could always take the cardigan or shawl off..
