See, compared to UK and USA many things in Dubai are cheaper. I have no idea which country you are living in, could be Italy Spain France but you have to see why the prices are a little bit different in different countries.
See for example you are living in Italy alright? and a product that is “MADE IN ITALY” is sold in “ITALY ITSELF” will be cheaper than DUBAI> WHY?
- cuz of foriegn exchange and currency appreciation and devaluation and all that. A product will be more expensive if this is applied.
- trade tariffs and taxes. custom tax will be applied to that product in Dubai free zones before it hits the markets.
- the retailers who buy the products from the middlemen have to put profit margins and then sell it. this is a pricing strategy. after all they have to make profit also.
- the retailers in malls have to pay rent. And considering it is Dubai and all they have to pay high rent and i have personal experiance because my family business rents many shops in malls and i have ideas about the rent. They consider the liabilities and costs before setting a final price.
Considering all these factors, the product which is made in italy will be cheaper in italy because the custom tax will not be applied and so on. 
As for where do i personally shop from? My favourite shops are Harvey Nichols, Debenhams, Villa Moda and Saks Fifth Avenue. Usually i buy all my casuals from debenhams. Fav brand for clothes is Liz Claiborne and Maine New England in Debenhams. Fav jeans brand is Armani Exchange.

SHopping tips? DONT GO TO MALLS! if you do not want to pay that much. There are seperate shops and all that too and go there. Because the shops in malls have to pay higher rent than the ones in other locations the prices do fluctuate. Like for example for electronics and mobile phones there is Naif Souk area. Meena Bazaar area is excellent for clothes and usually the shopkeepers are indian or pakistani and i can get reallllllllly good bargains… Oh i can tell you for honey moon… Just under an hour away from Dubai is Hatta. It is a serene place and there is a hotel there too. Or just an hour away is Al Ain adn there is a hotel in the mountains. Five star. It is great and the views are breathtaking. you can always go there adn stay but come to Dubai for shopping etc…
