So i am throwing a bridal shower and i need some ideas for themes, games and party favors.

at my shower, we had this great game that really got people into the spirit of things and doubled as dessert too...
one of my b'maids baked 7 (one for each letter of my name) cakes- basic, chocolate, betty crocker cake mix cakes, so nothing fancy and super easy to do, a couple of days before and stored them in the fridge. she also bought lots of cake decorating supplies- like the icing gel, sprinkles, m&m's, other small candy, etc.
she broke up the people at the shower into 7 teams of three or four people each, and gave them a cake, decorating supplies, and a letter from my name. then she timed it for the length of one song and everyone had to decorate their cake with their given letter from my name. it was hilarious how competitive and into it people got!
at the end, i had to judge who had decorated the cake with the best letter and that person won something small. and then we had 7 cakes to eat! yum!
i thought it was a really original idea and got everybody involved.

SGC, that is SO cute! i love that idea
and Catty, it doesnt have to be just girls! Have anyone get together and decorate the cakes. Lil cousins, uncles, aunts, etc.

yeah, i didn't have any little girls at my shower... i had friends and aunties and cousins my age... thats my point- it gets everybody involved and its not age-specific either.

*On my aunts bridal shower, My whole family played musical chairs it was so much fun like all the people, of all the ages took part in it..But it would also be good if you have such a big area where all the family members can actually go round and round the chairs. We mixed the game with passing the pillow like for example who ever got out had to do something he/she was asked to do. We also made the winner suffer by making him get ice creme for everyone. It was fun the game lasted longer then expected and even the grand parents enjoyed playing with the youngsters and it was shocking that my grand parents were the last ones to survive in the game and they totally went in their teenage years when my grandfather was about to win but my grand mother pulled the chair and won (by cheating but who cares) it was sweet..i always watch the movie whenever i miss my family.
