What are the essentials that a bride needs to buy from there?
Any other items you can only find in Pakistan for a wedding as compared to North America??

Re: Bridal Shopping in Pak?
Hi Malika. Dont know about lahore, but in Karachi you MUST go to gulf, aashiana, tariq road and zardozi if you want material which you can get stitched. If you wanna get work done then Kehkashan and Ghausia are the best places, for heavy work, embroidery etc. For bridal wear, there are loads of designers, and even other upcoming designers who can imitate stuff or get stuff made according to your budget...Will you be staying in North America after marriage? The number of clothes totally depends on your social life and social circle...but ideally, you should have a combination of heavy clothes, formal wear (work/embroidery) semi formals (from stores such as Bareeze, Rizwan Moazzam and Hilal Silk) and casuals (which you can get from boutiques too)
You can get loads of decorative stuff for the mehndi (thaals, matkas, glittery decor etc) from Pakistan, along with silver jewelery, traditional artificial jewelery...What specifically are you looking for?

Re: Bridal Shopping in Pak?
in Lahore, there are so many designers for Bridal Wear: Sarah Salman, Mehdi, Zara Shahjahan, Karma, Maria. B, Asifa and Nabeel, Nickie n' Nina
Also, Q-10 and Liberty have everything you need for bridal shopping. If you want to get embroidery work done at a good price, go to Liberty Back Side (khaddi market), and there are so many shops that do really nice embroidery work (there is a shop in there called Mehvish something, I cant remember the exact name, but he did a replica of a Karma suit for me, and it looks EXACTLY like the Karma outfit!)
Also try New Auriga Center (this is for open kapra), Fortress (boutiques for semi-formal/casual clothes), and Cavalry Grounds (this is where you will find really good jamawaar)
But for a one stop shopping market, your best bet is to try Liberty or Q-10. they have everything! Good luck!
Re: Bridal Shopping in Pak?
oh, one more thing: all you have to do is drive down M.M Alam Road, and you will find most designers there! and all the restaurants too!
Re: Bridal Shopping in Pak?
sorry, I didnt see the last part of your post: things to buy in Pakistan
Glass Choorian (best place in Lahore for these is Anarkali Market - they are famous for their chooriyan)
Formal Shoes/Sandals - Ehsan Chappal Store/Stylo are the most popular ones - but from experience I know their quality isnt the best
Clutches - get matching clutches for your outfits (I am from Canada, and the ones that I like here are all over $150 - but Im sure in Pakistan they probably have better ones)
Artifical Jewelry if you want some
Wedding clothes
Formal Clothes
Semi-Formal/Party Wear
Dinner Wear
Casual Wear
Mehndi supplies
