sorry for the multiple posts....but I think you should just get them to make a heavier dupatta on this outfit. It seems like the churidaar is already quite fancy and theres a lot of work along the daman and border of the sleeves as well. They also should have a group of facebook.

^ agreed! its a beautiful outfit. and even if it is pricey, it would still be less than having a gharara!
someone suggested a hyderabadi khara dupatta- those look beautiful and work, whether you're tall or short. you'll be wearing heels and sitting down for most of the night anyway, so its not going to matter how tall you are, really.
khara dupatta's are pretty heavy and there is a particular way of wearing the dupatta- if you know someone hyderabadi, they might be able to help.

Personally, I am not a fan of bridal outfits with shalwars, Patialas are out of the question, too. Churidars/Fitted trousers, Anarkalis, Angarkhas and the Hyderabadi Khara Dupatta are much more suited for the bride rather than the shalwar. I found a few pics to give you an idea.
With a few alterations (sleeves, heavier duppattas, length, colour), I think these can pass for bridal outfits:

These are to give you an idea of the Khara Duppatta. Both have traditional gota work but can be replaced by the trendier kaam. I personally love the outfit.
The Khada Dupatta (standing veil) is an outfit composed of a kurta (tunic), chooridaar (ruched pair of pants), and 6 yard dupatta (veil) and is traditionally worn by Hyderabad brides. Sometimes the kurta is sleeveless and worn over a koti resembling a choli. The bride also wears a matching ghoonghat (veil) over her head.
The accompanying jewellery is:
Tika (a medallion of uncut diamonds worn on the forehead and suspended by a string of pearls)
Jhoomar (a fan shaped ornament worn on the side of the head)
Nath (a nose ring with a large ruby bead flanked by two pearls)
Chintaak (a choker studded with uncut diamonds and precious stones)
Karan phool (earrings that match the Chintaak and consist of a flower motif covering the ear lobe and a bell shaped ornament that is suspended from the flower. The weight of precious stones and gold in the Karan phool is held up by sahare or supports made of strands of pearls that are fastened into the wearers hair.)
Satlada (neck ornament of seven strands of pearls set with emeralds, diamonds and rubies)
Ranihaar (neck ornament of pearls with a wide pendant)
Jugni (neck ornament of several strands of pearls with a central pendant)
Goat (Shellac bangles studded with rhinestones and worn with gold colored glass bangles called sonabai)
Payal (ankle bracelets)
Gintiyan (toe rings)

Woah Mahismart I don't think anyone can describe our desi jewelery as you did.
Oh & by the way Almost you don't have to be Hydrebadi to wear one of those Khara dupatta joras. My mom wore Hydrebadi Jora on her Walema 25 years ago. I wore it on my mamoo's Walema 11 years ago. I am also getting one made for my after shadi initial days & I am a Punjabi/Pathan. Wrote this just to give you an idea.

Hey I am curious why you are so interested in Shalwaar Kameez. If its for a cultural reason its one thing but don't do it cause of height. a very nicely tailored pishwaas will look lovely on your despite your size infact when you are short having a longer silloutte that does not 'cut you off' will make you look talller. Tight 'tang' pajama not too many churiyan but maybe a heavy border and a fitted Anarkali without a yoke or gathers basically an A-line shape looks very nice on any frame. keep the dupatta on your head but away from the frong of your body and get some very nice high strappy heels.
Secondly a "lehnga with a short tailiored shirt that looks more like a 'gown' is also very good for a short frame.
A Kaam gheer gharara is also nice, seen this on a bride who is really short and it was nice.
You can find 'shalwar kameez' but they are really outdated, one of my aunts wore a shalwar kameez for her valima some 15 years ago! it just hasn't been in style and honestly I think shalwaar kameez (Not pants) are the least flattering for short height.

It wasn’t for a wedding but for a party and the guppan’s MIL wanted to order it from the Indian designer.
And I agree with shoponline4kaprey. Just can’t find shalwaar kameezs flattering for brides.
Ladies - I am looking for some inspiration. I am hoping you can help me find some pictures of brides wearing Shalwar Kameez rather than lenghas or saris. I am having almost no luck finding pics on my own. It seems all the pictures I find of Shalwar Kameez outfits are too light to be bridal. Does no one make bridal quality shalwar kameez?
