She is so regal looking! Mashallah!
Re: BRIDAL PICS.
Very pretty pics indeed however I was thinking about the latest trend of brides going with more delicate smaller pieces for tikkas and earrings and necklaces. I was thinking that easily a guest could be walking around with something similar or heavier. I think it looks great and elegant, but at the same time I feel that a bride's everything should be leaps above what the guests are wearing. I don't mean make the girl look gaudy and overly done but just as her outfit should be more elaborate I think the jewelry should be as well. Maybe it's just me?
Re: BRIDAL PICS.
how bollywood and cute. also I like her outfit it reminds me of the traditional stuff we saw growing up.

What's the point of spending all that money on sets if you are no going to wear them later on, after your wedding day? And where will you wear them, other than to another close wedding? So there are people walking around with some of their bridal sets on, and the bride should not have to make something that she can never wear again just do outdo people at her wedding. She should wear what suits and pleases her.
Re: BRIDAL PICS.
you can easily use the same logic for outfits, why spend thousands of dollars on precious bridal outfits if you really can't wear them again?
we had another discussion about whether or not a bride should wear a dupatta at her reception or skip it. most of us agreed that it's important for the bride to wear the dupatta to set herself apart from other guests and to finish that bridal look. otherwise in a picture where the girl is just seen waist up she could look like a guest.
I think it's fine if these girls prefer the simpler sets i'm not knocking her or any bride, to each their own. I'm just saying that I don't care for this bridal trend. I like it when girls layer necklaces and wear family pieces and what not it looks more regal and what a dulhan should be on her day. With fashion jewelry these days you can have a fake set or a real one and most ppl won't know the difference so i'm not saying break the bank on sets you wont wear again. also how many girls do you know have melted down old pieces of gold to form new ones?

The nice thing about desi trends is that you DO wear the outfit again. I would never spend so much money on a dress I loved so much but could never wear again!

Forget about neckleces, what's up brides wearing pastal colours, seriously some of them look like as if they're at a dinner party than a wedding. My couisn went a to wedding wearing shocking pink (typical desi colours for wedding) and big earning and bangles, and ended up looking like a bride as the actual bride was light beige with light jewellery, and my cousin felt kinda embarrassed and couldn't wait to leave the scene.

I think pastel colors bring a fresher and more youthful look to the brides. I don't mind that at all i do think that like you said big earrings and bangles are common on guests and so the bride's set should be a bit more dramatic, a jhoomer or something would have helped give that bridal look.
sahar02- not everyone does wear their dress again and we have had the topic were some girls dont want cousins to show up in their bridal outfits and what not. but i'm just merely saying if you're going to be a bride then make sure your outfit, hair, makeup, and jewelry set is above what the guests will be walking around in.
