not to be rude but i think thats pretty childish, ‘to not want to share ur wedding dress.’ quite honestly, ive seen a lot of brides wear the same dress as me.
EVERY single bride i have seen looks completely different. some brides in that dress i love, some are ehh. and i know for sure no one in this world looked the way i did on my wedding day becuase there are so many other things going for u, first which is ur own looks, and how u carry the dress. second, the jewelery, third ur makeup. so there is not a single bride on this planet that will look like u.
i fell in love with that dress at karma. not to sound dreamy, but it was probably the only time that i can recall having experienced ‘love at first sight.’ a lot of designers crossed my mind, i went to a few and saw the outfits but i didnt feel anything in comparison to how i felt for this dress. and i do believe that u will look ur best in something u love. some of the relatives in my house wnated me to go to bunto, i am a fan of bunto but there was no way i was gonna get any outfit made from her cuz im just not what u call ’ a bunto bride.’ some of her outfits are gorgeous but too traditional for me and thats not how i see myself when i picture myself as a bride, be it bunto, taufiq hussain, or any other designer that does somewhat traditional styles/embroidery. regardless of the fact that they are known for supposedly not repeating their dresses.
do i care that ive seen 5 other brides wearing the same dress as me? eff no. why? because my dress was special to me. the most important aspect of the dress to me was how i looked on my wedding day and secondly that my kids, grandkids etc will be looking at my pics many yrs from. they arent going to say ‘oh mommy wore a dress that 20 other brides also bought.’ they are gonna see how lovely the dress was and how happy i was.
so my advice to everyone is, buy the dress u love and dont worry about the designer making it for someone else too. if u absolutely love a certain dress just go for it.
abslutely u are right! i know only taufiq does one off pieces for sure - but i would safely go to sana safinaz since their bridals are quite rare, and they dont have many on the rack too-
or may be make one my self yayyy
i have seen a few of sana safinaz bridals on real brides that look monotonous. very light shades of pastels, pinks, blues, chiffon, with silver and white embroidery. i dont think they are rare but they are definitely very pretty.
^ yes but to me the similarity is more in the cat of' signature style' which is ss's case is elegant, classy and fabulous then monotonous, same motifs and style forexample like karma.

So what, i should change my mind because *" quite honestly, ive seen a lot of brides wear the same dress as me." *
I don't really care how many brides have worn the same dress as you and you didn't care, because i would!!!!!! Its my own personal choice, so how the hell are you gonna tell me that "not to be rude but i think thats pretty childish!!"
What does it have anything to do with you, if i don't want my dress worn over and over again! I have been planning and drawing out my dress since i was 10! And no, i'm not gonna get married anytime soon, but when i do, it will be MY dream dress. So i think its pretty rude for some other bride to make it her own!
again as i said before, and its what you did with your wedding dress, if you went to the shop and picked out the wedding dress of your dreams then so be it. But again i would hate it if another bride wore it after me!
And we are all entitled to our own opinions, so stop being so condescending
^dude im referring to people going to designers to get their dress not supposedly sketching it out themselves, then yes i would be pissed off too. if i wanted to rude and condescending, trust me u would know it. anyhoo...
^ as long as the designer doesnt gurantee and therefore charge you, as a one off dress, you want do anything .. juts hope and pray u dont go to such a wedding lol
^ haha hell yeah! i also plan on making life miserable for everyone around me for my wedding! its MY DAY!!! why not - being the only daughter doesnt help too :S heheh
^yeh thats how i also felt. i was very much against getting a peshwaaz for my valima cuz i had seen elder relatives in my family do it and i just didnt like it much at the time. i still wouldnt want to wear capris on the valima, with no dupatta on my head. people can pull it off really well but i just feel like u lose the whole bride feeling.
but she does indeed look amazing and very much like a bride.
^ yes a dupp on head and full traditional look is imp. For me i would go modern with the work aesthetic and color even on the wedding day may be , but the sihellouette has to be the traditional one -
bunto has done some amazing pishwases! but NEVER one for me on my wedding :) may be as a formal.
