what about eensy weensy cap sleeves? just an inch or so- its funny but sometimes thats the only sleeves people need to not be scandalized.
I have those eensy weensy cap sleeves (not 1 inch though, more like 3 or 4) because sleeveless in our family is like OMG WHAT ARE YOU WEARING followed by YOU'RE A MUSLIM WOMAN, SHAME ON YOU lecture, and also because that's the length I like for my sleeves. It really surprises me that NOONE has a problem with them but me in sleeveless gets them all haww haye :(
Speaking of Hijabi brides, i saw a few pics on facebook (yes it was in THAT group), the bride had longish sleeves, and a mandarin collar, and her duputta covering her hairline. It looked really pretty, not at all "hijabi-ish" but still appropriate for a hijabi..in fact the best i've ever seen.

maybe they had a financial situation.. which in pakistan isn't rare, by the way. i have heard of lots and lots of ghareeb larkiyan having a joint wedding with siblings. with so much poverty across the country, who can afford to spend money on multiple seperate weddings? it's hard for the common man to get by on a normal basis as it is. maybe instead of having 3 seperate small weddings, they decided to have one big event for all of them instead. they all look really nice, mA.
i dont think its only poverty induced...the time/distance factor plays a huge role...sometimes the families tend to be soo scattered that it is hard to have everyone present at the weddings again and again...its saves time..and everyone gets to be at the wedding...
and they dont look poor to me :)
they dont exactly give off 'im so rich' look either. come on man, wearing a small gold set doesn't automatically mean you're rich :) they look lower middle class. whether financial or other reason, i dont think anyone should be criticizing them for having a joint wedding because noone knows their circumstances.
