These days you get replica's of gold jewellery made, which look so unbelievably genuine. I for sure cannot tell if the set is real gold or a replica because of the amazing copies made!
Same is the case for stones. Few years back, my cousin took a very courageous step (as it was unusual back then) and wore a costly but very stiking stone jewellery set on her Walima. People did talk - but then they talk anyway! Lol! Everyone thought the Bride looked so different and beautiful - and that it was a great choice!
I don't think that stones make the look fake at all. Great copies get made where you just can't tell whether it is real or a replica! Some stones are costly like sapphires, emeralds, gems, semi-precious stones, pearls etc.
I think stone jewellery and crystal jewellery make great alternatives to typical gold jewellery and such jewellery gives an elegant and very stylish look to the Bride's personality. :)
No doubt it gives an elegant & stylish look but not this size. I have worked with diamonds & gold jewellery for 6 years so I can clearly tell if its fake or real. A person like me knows that a lot of these colored stones are not even genuine as some colors don't even exist naturally. Also a lot of times a particular stone in a certain size would cost a fortune. Let alone 5-10 stones on the whole set. That's fake & you can tell.
I am all for matching stones with the outfits & unique looks that we are seeing more & more now a days than those typical 22,24 karat gold sets but the sets models wore were cheesy.
