Agreed and I love how timeless and classic her wedding outfit was. Long shirts and loose frocks are a trend I think there's something to sticking with tradition and creating a wedding outfit that will always be in style. It's refreshing to see someone sticking to the old is gold mentality and the look turned out stunning as did the bride, mashallah and congrats.

^I agree. I think the long shirts and anything too trendy will really date the pictures in a few decades when shorter kameeze are back in.

^They are great to wear if you're following trends and they do look very beautiful BUT trends aren't timeless and slowly diminish over time. And you dont want to look outdated in your wedding pictures, right?

That depends on how much you care about trends and how much following them means to you, personally…
I think if you like an outfit, then why avoid it for the sake of "fashion… a well made, elegant item of clothing well always remain timeless, regardless of the current trends.

True, but personally I love regal/old-school kind of looks (heirloom jewelry/Bunto jora etc) so I'd avoid looking trendy b/c I want to look timeless.

I think if you wear a short shirt guests will gasp and be like omg she's not following the trend. it seems like for brides they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. personally i think we have so many days to wear different cuts of dresses I hate seeing brides use all of their wedding days on longer shirts and frocks i think a traditional gharara on at least one day is nice to see because it's timeless.

I think no matter what, following a trend or not, you will one day be outdated. Look at our moms weddings, they wore traditional ghararas but the style was specific to that time and when you look at their pictures today they reflect the time/decade they were in. lol we may look back and like what they wore because it was elegant and classy, but we still look back and think yeah that was definitely what a bride in the 70's wore.
Wear what you want , like and feel good in. Period. It's your day.

i hate this stupid long shirt VS Short shirt argument, its like the iphone VS blackberry, FB VS Twitter, Black VS White ect etc :D
long shirts technically are only 'IN' in pakistan...otherwise Anarkalis have always been kinda below the knee....so it was just somthing pakistani's took and 'bedazzzled' it.....im just going to wear what looks good on me, a dress in my favourite colour, full Stop.
