^Its actually a shirk considering the fact that in all the weddings these days there is singing and dancing, and now in some of the weddings you see people drinking etc..the shaadis are no more a segregated, but in the end people make the bride walk under the quran so that she is in its protection, while the alims say that its better to marry the islamic way and read the quran..rather then seeking its blessings/ protection by just keeping in on the head etc.
