Kundan is a process applied to gold. Not sure exactly what they do but if I’m not wrong it had something to do with really raising the temperature and adding some other element into it. That’s why the kundan designs seem more heavier.. they have lesser gold in them. Polki is the melting of diamond leftover and than the solidifying of that. So kundan is the gold you see and polki is the gem part
