wedding...

i've been designing lots of my own clothes for years, and recently, a lot of desi bridalwear..my question/problem is..i've been thinking about starting hijab now, but i don't exactly want to cover on my wedding. Shaadi isn't even in the immediate future , and it's not like im planning on sleeveless, midriff-baring stuff (tobah tobah! lol) but, you know, shorter sleeves than usual, and showing a lil bit of my hair underneath the duputta/veil.. ..wat do u guys think?

Re: wedding…

yes you should not wear a hijab on ur wedding, afterwad u can :k:

:hehe: :k:

Sara -- it depends on what you feel is required of you for modest dress. if you firmly believe that covering hair and arms is required of you, then do not allow fashion to interfere. if you feel that it is not required, then don't worry about it. but whatever you choose, wear what you feel is appropriate not simply what someone else tells you is right.

Sara... i know lots of girls who wear hijab & got married. they did 1 of 2 things.
(1) had a completely separated wedding where they would come into the hall with a shawl covering them. & once they passed the doors where there were no more men, remove the shawl.

(2) wore hijab covering their head just put the duppata on top & tailor the rest of the dress to have long sleeves. if u get the right tailor it looks like thats the way the dress was designed & is beautiful.
