Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
You're a beautician and former model and stuff, shouldn't you know this already?
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
You should always get a facial done at least one week before your wedding/mendhi function. Facials tend to make you break out, get rid of the junk in your skin which is why you do them well in advance. Plus your skin becomes slightly more sensitive so doing threading/waxing on that after a facial is usually forbade upon.
Then again, despite my insistence, Mee Lee's in Pakistan did a facial the day before my mendhi and yes, I broke out on the wedding day.
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
I did the facial, waxing, threading on the day of the mehndi (two days before the wedding). I put mehndi on the day before the wedding.
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
its not mandatory to get a facial, is it?
if it ain't broke, don't fix it, is what i say.
also i've heard that ideally, you should be getting a facial at least two weeks before to make sure you don't break out.
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
beauticians do call u 2 days before ur barat for waxing n facial etc.. n for mehndi is done one day before the barat..
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
Az i have done Bridal Mehndi, i alwayz say u shud have ur mehndi on 2 dayz before ur wedding.
Mehndi usually takes 48 hours to bring the actual colour out ![]()
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
I didn't get a facial before my wedding and my mehndi was done the night of the mehndi function.....i got my threading and waxing done a week before, though it would've been better if i had it done later, closer ot the function.
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
That's right...
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
Strawberry, I am a beautician however I can't reccomend when to get a facial done to a bride..each comes in with a set idea of when they want a facial and EVERY bride comes with a different idea..I don't do facials or henna. And hence I have NO clue!
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
^ You get facials done a week prior to the wedding, or at the very least NOT on the same day as your threading/waxing. anybody whose ever read a magazine would know that:confused:
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
Sara, I ask because we had a bride come in 2 days ago..on the day of her mehndi for a facial, manicure, pedicure, bleach, threading, waxing and ubtan...I just wanted insight to how its usually done. A bride even got a facial done the SAME day as her wedding..
As for the bridal henna, I have seen girls get it done 2 days prior and even on the same morning as the wedding =)
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
Well being a Beautican i have to agree with Gina that all brides vary in their choice of when to get facials and mehndi done.... most brides tend to however opt for mehndi the night before so it's very fresh on the wedding day and the facial they tend to get over n done wid just before the mehndi which allows the skin a couple of days at least to settle down before their big day.
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
Its so hard convincing brides not to wax/thread the same day..
Re: Bridal Mehndi Qs..
when i went to lahore for my nikah..this lady who did my mehndi was like "facial nai karana?" since i hadnt seen a facial done before...i nodded...and was about to be taken to a room....arsh walks by and grabs my hand saying.."dont ruin your face" and took me into the makeup room.... :) it was hilarious...she was so protective that i forgot to ask why.....hahaha...
anyway...i dont think ill ever do it...since it involves a lot of pulling and tugging to the skin....
about the waxing part.....i do it myself...because i know my body better than anyone...i cant trust anyone....i had a bad experience not once but three times....by different..well known...professional ladies....(and i mean the high end ones)..they all ended up ripping my skin...i learned the techniques...and now alhamdullilah!!! i can do it flawlessly...it took a couple of times for me to get used to it...(the positions..the direction of pulling etc)....thank god!!
it didnt really matter for my nikah..since i left pakistan 2 days after the function...sigh school/work reasons...plus..my ruksati was a while away... :)
