Re: Bridal Makeup
^ thats really nice makeup... its got colours but it doesn't look costume-y.
i love the pink on top and the green on the bottom.
Re: Bridal Makeup
okay i dont know if this qualifies as bridal makeup or what but i think its absolutely gorgeous!!
Re: Bridal Makeup
love it !
Re: Bridal Makeup
Too trendy/funky IMO for a bride, but the person who did it is really talented. It looks good, but i dont think that xact look could translate well into the “real” world
Re: Bridal Makeup
i agree thats definately not bridal makeup and is it bit daring for most people but yeah..the person who did it is very talented and i just love the color combinations especially in the first pic..i would love to do my eyes like that if i was wearing one of colors in the eye shadow ( a hot pink, orange or yellow) i think a solid colored dress looks better with makeup like that or else things looks too crazy
Re: Bridal Makeup
I can only see these looking nice on those makeup artists at the mac counters at macy's/bloomingdales..... but in real life, it'd have to be really toned down for it to look not clownish. But my fave one is the last one, id luv to try that
Re: Bridal Makeup
yeah i think of all of them, the last one is the one that would translate best in the "Real world"... it would work for a bride too but the jora would have to be simple... maybe an engagement outfit or something... with all the kaam and jewellery on the actual wedding day, it might be too much.

^ love the bridal hair and makeup!!
Re: Bridal Makeup
yeah i know....but how else can the look be obtained.... i am so worried...! how is the dupatta set....? i remember...my nikkah hair style...had not much but some backcombing..
Re: Bridal Makeup
dupatta's pinned into your hair
don't worry.....just make sure your outfit doesn't have a heavy dupatta or else your hair will be pulled by it's weight
Re: Bridal Makeup
one trick that really helped me out with the dupatta pinning was to lift it up just a little bit and pin that to the middle of my back... that way it didnt weigh my head down or get in the way when i went to sit.. :)
Re: Bridal Makeup
chanda, a lot of that look can be acheived with hair pieces too... i mean, there are hair lifts that they insert under your real hair to give it a really high bee hive... saves on detangling later on :)
also dont worry, your makeup artist will know where and how to pin the dupatta, on your end, just make sure it isnt too heavy.
Re: Bridal Makeup
Hey all, word of advise, as a Pro Makeup artist i would strongly recommend having a trial and cutting out certain looks that u like regardless of how daring they may be.
A good makeup artist should be able to adapt any look to suit u and bear in mind photography makeup is completely dif from everyday basic looks!
Need ant tips drop me a line! xxxxxxxxxxx

thats a great idea!! i am going to ask them about it...the only problem i have encountered is the 'who to trust' part...there are plenty of desi salons here in DFW area...who provide bridal hair, makeup, mehndi services...there are some ladies who work from home..its just...none have a website!!!
i talked to an american woman..she has been working with MAC....and claims to have done a few indian brides..therefore 'has an idea'...i dont know if should risk it...she asked me to bring photos of what i want...i guess she 'll have plenty of time to practice from now until dec!! :) btw she works alone (Mod Facade)..
Re: Bridal Makeup
bisoux and sumiyia....i was lucky to have been in pakistan for the nikkah....i was probably the most clueless person ever!!!!! they did all of the above!!

hey its ok we were all clueless....especially me when i was in pakistan for my engagement
so your wedding's gonna be here or in pakistan? well the MAC lady sounds pretty good, and just do trials with her you know so that you can tell her what you want and maybe you can take pictures of makeup that you like and show it to her
don't worry ......i have learned a lot about bridal dresses and makeup here on GS myself :)

go for trials hon... as for websites, yeah i find a lot of people are still not web-savvy enough to recognise the importance of having one but it doesnt mean they're not skilled at what they do, you know? so call them up and meet them, go for a trial and then see how it goes. im sure you'll find someone amazing and will look beautiful :)
