Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

Chiaiman, your comments are so funny, especially about pretty people making you happy. :cb:
In the second album, there’s a couple (I think from TX) who’s being photographed after the rukhsati as they arrive at the groom’s family home. Even as they enter their bedroom:hug: and sit there on the bed, more and more people start joining them, and the groom’s father sprawls out on the bed. I’m highly disturbed and sympathetic for that bride. Couldn’t dulha sahib have sprung for a hotel room, or was it his wedding night fantasy to be in a room next to his parents, with a bunch of nieces and nephews running around everywhere? It just gives me the creeps.

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

ha ha ha u are right, but that's always the case in pakistan

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

i love summer's walima makeup and dress, specially the purse.

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

It looks to me like the groom (or someone) HAS booked a hotel room.
This is definitely NOT his own bedroom. Look at the light fixture…look at the pillows and the bedspread…look at the entrance and how they walk past the bathroom. All typically from a hotel room.

Probably the reason why the FIL is sprawled out on the bed is that there was no other place to sit to take the photo with so many people in it, knowing how small hotel rooms can be.

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

but still they should be left alone after the rukhsati, they had enought pic taken at the actual function i guess

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

If you guys want the links to some indian or bangladeshi weddings, i'd post them but i dont really want to since the weddings are soo ugly. no offense. their makeup, dresses and everything ewwww

for a second i thought u were talking abt me. :p

lol i bet that bride is happy that the whole family's there. i wouldnt wanna be alone with him.

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

dang Chaiman - nice work :k:

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

I dunno… none of these pix is too outstanding or gives inspiration..

Okay this kinda bugs me (n mite bug others wit wat ill say :stuck_out_tongue: ) but whats the point of wearing hijab if ure gnna be decked out in fancy salwar kameez, jewelry and makeup ?? Ive seen quite a few pix in here of that..It kinda defeats the purpose of hijab i think, n it just looks retarded!

The wedding with the three grlz, the one in white looks sooooo sad! like a typical paki bride, not shy or sharmeeli, but sad like shes gnna burst out crying.. :frowning:

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

Muzna, you know you are totally right. I should have taken a better look at the details of the room. I think I got thrown off by the million family members in there. :cb:

Sort of on the topic: I was once on an Islam q and a website, and some girl had written in that she was going to be married soon, and that her husband to be wanted to spend their wedding night at his home (actually his parents’ home). When she asked about them staying at a hotel instead, he was totally clueless that people did that (“why do that when we can stay at mom and dad’s”), and basically said that was out of the question since it wasn’t a revaj in his family. She was writing in for advice, on how to convince him. I remember feeling so sorry for her though. :frowning:

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

Well, some of the pics can tell you what NOT to do :cb: Although i did like the colorful outfits and mehndi decorations in the “pretty people from Lahore” album.

I’m with you on the hijab issue. I have cousins who did exactly that on their weddings. It doesn’t look good and is quite an oxymoron. One on hand, they’re so strict that they wear socks with their sandals since they believe that even their toes have to be covered, but on the other, they’re full of makeup and jewelry, especially on their wedding. One of them had a segregated wedding, so once the men left, she took off the hijab and looked more normal, although her hairstyle was so messed up that it looked very bad.

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

in this case they should have a wedding party in which there is no guys allowed in female’s area. exept fathers and chacha or mamo typle mans.
if i ever get that religious i wish i woudl prefere that:balley:

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

thanks

sara, she’s smiling in some of the pictures. doesnt look sad to me

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

what pics are u talking about???

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

^the bride in the white dress in the album where three girls are getting married together.

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

with regards to the whole hijab thing (no offence) but your wedding day should be celebrated... getting all decked out and fancy for ONE day without the hijab is not qayamat.... and like some of you said: it kinda defeats the purpose when you have makeup and jewellery on.

with regards to a seperate man/woman function.. i don't like that idea.. i think its more fun when EVERYONE is included in the festivities.

Re: bridal makeup in Lahore

to be very honest, i like seperate man and woman functions. we have a lot of those here in USA where i live, i wish i can have one in pak also on my wedding and mehndi but i don't know yet
