^No one's going to do anything you don't want as long as you tell them!!! why dont people understand this?! If you go to some place in a lower income area and tell them you want to look like a movie star then maybe... but if you go to a respectable salon and tell them what kinda look you want to achieve then nobody's going to mess it up. My mom used to get her party makeup done from this salon right near our house "Qosi's". It wasnt famous or anything, just convenient, and the ladies there always did the nicest makeup without caking it on or making her face too white.
or maybe my definition of 'caking it on' is different than other people's.
Sometimes salons make people look too white because the bride and her family insist on it. My mom's favorite beautician used to tell her stories about girls from lower income areas coming to get their makeup done and getting disappointed when the makeup wasnt as white as they expect a bride's to be.
