ive received some PM’s asking me abt this. im not an expert in this department and whatever i posted earlier in some threads i had just simply heard from my friends.

some friends of mine were jus discussing this jus now so i thought before i forget i’ll post this info here so ppl might benefit from it.

here’s some of the good ones, and im also mentioning what my friends were saying abt them

shaheen’s - if she’s in a good mood she does good makeup, otherwise she can spoil ur face. she is very moody. her brides usually end up looking much older than their age, her makeup is very mature.

rubina’s - she is good if she does it herself

tariq amin - he is a guy so depends on if u wana get ur makeup done from a guy or not. plus he’s weird and gets too free.

nabila’s - she is good for sophisticated, light party makeup.

ather shehzad - they do the photography as well. they r also guys but they r very good and their makeovers r excellent.

elle nora - they make ur lips fat. [lol thats whats my friends said]. their branch in lahore is very good but their branch in karachi sometimes spoils the makeup.

there is one in avari which is sposed to be good

there some other place called saffron

bhabi, depilex, mahrose —> these r now out, too old fashioned etc

also u have to get ur appointment with the parlor atleast 6 months in advance.

and some places do good makeup but their arrangement of dupatta and hairstyle isnt so good. different parlors specialise in different things. its a good idea to see magazine pics, previously done brides, photoshoots of the parlors u r interested in.

abt bridal dresses…

there’s mrs kazmi [very expensive]

my friend is getting her’s from lajwanti

there’s sana and safinaz

and some other big designers whose names im forgetting

and…there’s shops in zamzama, tariq road and bahadrabad which u can visit to get an idea

Best is to go to different palours and see their work, they have pics hanging on the walls or have a album.

Mines made my lips look like a japanese doll lol* she outlined in such a manner and I told her I want a natural lip look and she was like what

so I look the lipstick from her hand and did it myself.

armughal uncle i think tariq amin also does guys grooming i think and i think some other celebrities also have opened some mens grooming places

i think there r some men salons in zamzama

Where exactly is Bahadrabad? I found the clothes on Tariq Road to be of crap quality and design. I guess it comes down to individual taste.

Mehnaz u have to look at the different shops, u need to look around
check zamzama next time as well
or get material from gulf and get it tailored according to ur taste

bahadrabad is near tariq road

My sister got her makeup done from Mee Lee's in Islamabad...the owner was chinesse and did really nice makeup. I was just wondering if there's a well known parlour there in karachi that runs by a chinesse ??

I had my make up done by Daniella in ISB, Mee Lee and Daniella are sister in laws... anyways, Daniellas daughter is doing make up now in KHI...her name is Josie... Damn I think I have lost her contact....but she is awesome...she did my friends make up at her wedding...it was some of the most natural yet stunning make up I have seen.....

i decided to post the stuff i said to u in PM’s for the benefit of others as well

the thing is that ppl will keep giving u different opinions and there is no BEST parlor coz everyone may have had a different experience but these were the best ones and u just have to go with one and u will have to make an advance booking as well so u just need to make a decision and hope for the best i would say :slight_smile: i know one wants to do the max research but there r no definite answers if u know what i mean abt who is the BEST u know? inshallah things will turn out well dont worry too much :k:

i guess traditional is more like the eastern look and i bit on the heavier side tho not too heavy while party makeup/lighter is a more western look and a bit lighter.

nabila does bridal as well but it looks like party compared to others.

personally i think u shud go with allenora.

i checked for you with a friend who knows abt this stuff and so apart from

  • shaheen’s and nabila’s
    there’s another one called Angis, angis is a bit traditional too
  • allenora is more of traditional type, nabila’s is party type
    shaheen’s is traditional
    and no allenora (thats the correct spelling) is not so new, its got a branch in lahore as well
